These are satisfied customer testimonials ranging from restoration, trailing arms, differentials, and core returns.

Used their service for my 73 Vette, rear trailing arms, and front control arms. Fantastic parts, and great service. I will not go anywhere else from here on for all my restoration work. Thanks, Jim!

I had the opportunity to visit Jim’s shop and talk with him about the complete rebuilt trailing arm setup I was purchasing as well as watch him tear my complete core down. He reviewed and explained the parts and findings to give me some good feedback. Jim is top-notch with knowledge and is willing to answer all your questions. I definitely will purchase from you again.

I couldn’t be happier with the work performed by VTech, it was an outstanding experience.  Right from my first phone call with Jim the communication was fantastic.  We discussed my ideas of what needed to be completed on my ’73 and Jim filled in the gaps in my thinking and provided great advice.  I actually decided on taking the car to Jim’s workshop and have him manage the project, too much for me to handle in my garage;  new trailing arms, control arms, full suspension package, diff service and some tweaks on the engine.  It’s an all original, numbers matching car and after 48 years rubber bushings/bearings start to disappear!  Jim kept me informed every step of the way and we discussed and agreed each replacement.  When I picked up the car Jim had it up on the lift and showed me everything that had been done, he was meticulous.  The previous owner had some sort of Rusty Jones preserver sprayed on the underside back in the 80s, it has kept it rust free but man it’s messy to work on. Jim had cut through it and cleaned it up beautifully.  My wife and I drove it back from Rockford IL to the Twin Cities in MN.  It was a fun drive, I was smiling the entire way, probably the longest drive it’s done in 30 years.  She didn’t miss a beat and with all the suspension replaced she rode like a dream and literally hugged the road. I could not recommend Jim more highly.  As I said to him on pick up; don’t retire yet, the Corvette world needs you!

V-Tech Corvette is my go-to place for repairs/upgrades to my 73!  Doing business with V-Tech is always a pain free, rewarding experience!  Jim is an absolute professional whom firmly believes and demonstrates outstanding customer service and first rate tech support!  Jim is very easy to have a conversation with and listens, understands, and supports you with straight-on information and facts providing invaluable tips on do it yourself repairs/modifications.  Since August 2019 I’ve called V-tech dozens of times, the phone has been answered every single time!

My interaction with V-Tech Corvette began in August 2019 with the replacement of the trailing arms on my 73.  As I began to do my homework and study the procedures to remove and replace them along with the numerous replacement parts options available.  I decided to go with the 2-inch offset trailing arms fully assembled.  I called numerous corvette parts suppliers and specialty shops.  None provided the information I needed to ensure I was making the right choice, and to answer my specific questions directly related to the complexity of the job, and procedures required to do the job right.  While surfing the internet for information I stumbled across the V-Tech Corvette site.

I called V-Tech and Jim answered the phone.  I started explaining to him and asking questions regarding my plan and what I was doing.  Without hesitation he answered my questions and started asking the right questions back to me (e.g.) how will I use the car street/strip/track, engine performance current/future, type of transmission, tire/wheel sizes, my mechanical experience, tool availability etc., etc.  We spoke approximately 45-minutes, I didn’t purchase the trailing arms at this time.  I did some more homework and called back around a week later reaching Jim once again.  We were able to immediately pick up on the previous weeks conversation.  At the end of this conversation I purchased the fully assembled 2-inch offset trailing arms. Jim also provided me with a great deal of tech info and tips on the correct saw blades for cutting through the rusted bolts, installing new bolts, shim placement, critical parts to replace, removing the spring, rust inhibitor, etc.

The trailing arm replacement job on my 73 only worked out so well because of the invaluable information, and tips Jim provided through our numerous telephone conversations.  My existing trailing arms were totally trashed!  The left side had to be cut in half to gain access for sawing through the bolt holding it in the frame pocket and for ease of removal.  To my surprise, upon returning the trashed trailing arms to V-Tech for evaluation of potential reusable components.  I received $350.00 for serviceable parts that they can recondition.  If it weren’t for the honest, professional service from Jim and V-Tec.  I would have just thrown those trashed trailing arms in the dumpster, losing $350.00. I also returned some parts that I originally ordered but ended up not needing.  I received full refund for those.

As I contemplated removal/replacement of my leaking differential, with lose half shaft connectors.  I contacted Jim at least a dozen times to discuss various upgrade options along with procedures for the removal. The knowledge based conversations with Jim allowed me to make an educated decision on what works best for me and my car.  V-Tech sent me an appropriate shipping box for the differential and I sent it to them for rebuild, including upgraded different gear ratio.  Jim called me after they got the differential cleaned and opened up to discuss the details regarding the internal components and the results of their inspection.  I received the rebuilt unit around a week after V-Tech received it.  It looks brand new, and no more loose half shaft ends. V-Tech determined my existing half shaft connecters and drive shaft yoke to be in serviceable condition and reusable. Their honesty in the evaluation of these parts prevented me from spending up to $600.00 on new replacement parts for these items.

I have a 1963 Split Window Coupe that developed drive train issues. I contacted VTech Corvette, Jim Mervis, on a Friday morning to discuss my problems. Jim had an open spot in his schedule and was able to get me in the following Monday. VTech Corvette diagnosed the rear end noises after test driving and performing some partial disassembly. This exploratory investigation resulted with Jim himself, rebuilding my differential, both trailing arms, rebuilding the parking brakes and replacement of other worn or broken rear and front suspension parts and complete wheel alignment. Jim provided me with excellent information as to what was wrong with the various conditions. He has a keen focus in making sure your vehicle is properly operational and SAFE. Once the work progressed I had Jim replace my gas tank sending unit, install missing choke parts and provide me with an estimate of work items I should consider for the future. VTech is a professional, clean, organized and safe shop. Jim is a heavily experienced and knowledgeable corvette mechanic who is also is a C2 Corvette owner. He’s very cost competitive, reliable, stands behind his work and treats customer’s cars as if they’re his. Jim contacted me every day with an update of the work performed and upcoming progress. I’ll be going back to VTech next spring and highly recommend them to anyone who owns a C2/C3 corvette.

I have nothing but great things to say about Jim and the excellent work done by Vtech. They rebuilt the differential and trailing arms for my 78 Silver Anniversary Vette which is undergoing a complete restoration. The turn-around time was very short. Jim returned my emails and calls quickly. The combination of expertise, high standard of work, and communication is extremely hard to find these days. I recommend Vtech to anyone wishing the same for their project.

I own a 81 C3 and was looking for videos on removing trailing arms. There are lots of videos out there but Vtech’s were by far the most informative. I called Vtech, spoke with the owner about my parts and was impressed with the willingness to share info and help with my project. Fortunately, Vtech is only about an hour and a half away, so I took the control arms, trailing arms, strut rods and differential to have Vtech completely rebuild them, including changing the gear ratio and rebuilding the posi unit.

When I got there with the parts, I was immediately impressed again with how clean and organized the shop was. The turnaround time was amazing, about one week later Jim called and told me my parts are ready. They actually looked like new parts, the attention to detail was above and beyond what I expected, everything was immaculate, even the bolt holes were tapped and cleaned.

Thanks Vtech for an awesome job! A company like yours is very hard to find with quality and pride in everything you do. Thanks again Vtech for making the underneath of my Vette look better than when it was new.

Wow, great experience. He knows his stuff and was very thorough in his inspection, showing me the items that needed attention. A very clean professional place that I will bring my c3 to for its next repairs.

Jim Mervis is one of the nicest, and most knowledgeable Corvette specialists you will ever meet. These two are a rare combination in today’s world, and one to be treasured. Jim supplied me with a rebuilt differential for my 1970 project. The piece worked out so well, and after talking to him on the phone a few times, I knew that I wanted to bring my core back to him in person, and meet him. When I did, he was gracious enough to tear down the old core, show me exactly what was wrong, and explain everything as he did it. This man is a Saint! Since this experience in November 2020, I have sent others to him for differential work, suspension work, and high quality friendliness all at a fair price. Thank you Jim, you are greatly appreciated

Jim at V Tech Corvette is the guy I want when it comes to working on my ‘67 427/390 Corvette. Jim treated my car like it was his own because he is a Corvette owner and understands what our cars mean to us. He is very knowledgeable and was straightforward on all the work he did for me. Prices were very fair and always discussed as we went through the process. The range of work included completely going through the suspension, brakes, some engine work, gauges repaired, and other items. His vendors that did some contract work were very good too. I have owned my car for 46 years and when Jim finished work on the car it was just a thrill to drive. As I told Jim when we finished, “you are my go-to guy for my Vette”. Jim is a pleasure to work with, I highly recommend him.

Jim is THE MAN if you have an older Corvette. Knows his stuff, does what he says he’s going to do, when he says he’s going to do it. Very fair and transparent pricing, and just a great guy.

Over the last few weeks, I have been in communication with Vtech Corvette arranging the details of a large order for a client in Oregon. Jim at Vtech knows his stuff. He kindly walked me through all the details of purchasing a set of refurbished trailing arms, all the rear suspension components, and all the front suspension components including some brake parts. He was super knowledgeable and friendly and always available when I had questions. Needless to say, I chose to place the order and the parts arrived in a very timely manner and boxed very professionally! We haven’t installed the components yet but everything is high-quality looking and very sleek, the refurbished trailing arms look brand new! Excellent customer service, Excellent attitude, Excellent parts, at very very fair prices! Support small businesses like Vtech Corvette. I’m a customer for life now!

I own a 1963 Corvette Roadster and take great pride in a faithful restoration of my driver myself. It wasn’t very long before I realized I would need some expert mid year specific technical service to handle the jobs beyond my skill set.

I met the owner of Vtech Corvette through the Northern Illinois Corvette Club and learned more about the company. Vtech specializes in servicing 63 through 82 corvettes. Vtech (owner) is involved in a lot of the work himself and is expert in all aspects of repair, rebuilding, and restoration. He also owns an awesome 66 coupe that eats C5’s for lunch at auto cross events.

Whether your corvette is an NCRS car or a driver “like mine” Vtech Corvette has complete knowledge and has all the professional equipment to do the work you want done, promptly and correctly.

I would not trust my mid -year service to anyone else. With Vtech’s service, my Sting Ray is completely reliable. I make all the “corvette clubs events” and easily cruise with the newer corvettes, turning heads like only an old Sting Ray can.

Just wanted to say thank you for a very nice product. Definitely made my job go much easier. I wish I would of found your company sooner but will keep you in mind if I need Corvette parts in the future.

Thanks again.

I have a 1977 Corvette that I picked up in Michigan which had been stored in a barn for several years. Although the body and interior are in good shape and the car ran, I knew it was in dire need of suspension, brake and drive train work. After sitting for so long, things got really dried out and quite stiff. I looked for shops that would possibly do some of the work and then found Vtech Corvette and was even more surprised that they were right here in my area!

I met Jim at his shop (which is clean and organized) and told him what I had in mind and wanted to start with the trailing arms and half shafts. He explained everything that he would do in detail and would also let me know of anything else that he discovered during the teardown. As expected, there were some other issues that he called me on and we decided to do a differential rebuild and also upgrade to a composite spring instead of the old rusty leaf spring set up.

Once I saw the quality of work that was being done on the rear suspension, it took me no time to decide to do the front upper and lower control arms, brakes and suspension as well. This car is such a pleasure to drive now! It’s tight, smooth and most of all I know it’s safe! Jim and his crew are definitely on top of their game and I would recommend their services to any corvette owner who wants professional work done right. The entire experience exceeded my expectations and for future needs, I will definitely be back to see Jim at Vtech!

Vtech, I have received my rebuilt differential and have it installed. Thanks for doing a great job in the build and the detailing. Basically all I had to do was to remove the rear end from the box, add oil and bolt in!

Vtech, Thanks for the core refund. I won’t have the remainder of the car put together and running for about a year but I’m sure all will test just fine.

It was a pleasure dealing with your company for the first time, delivery and core refund were handled quickly and the rebuilt parts look like new. I have three other Corvette’s, so I’m sure we’ll do business again in the future.

Thanks.

I am the original owner of a 1964 Corvette Roadster with matched numbers. I compared a restoration of my car in 1989 and now. Simply put, there is no comparison to the quality and attention to detail constantly exhibited by Vtech Corvette during this full restoration. Each part was closely evaluated to determine what needed to be replaced. The parts and assembly match NCRS standards where my first restoration was not even close. Vtech Corvette is guided by a highly experienced restorer and I cannot say enough about the quality of the restoration. Vtech Corvette does outstanding work.

I had Vtech Corvette replace all the wiring harnesses on my 1963 Corvette Roadster and they did a great job. Throughout the process Vtech Corvette would contact me about the progress and any other potential problems he uncovered when working on the car. It certainly saved me future problems. When I got the car back everything was in working order and I never had to go back for any issues. They also did a great job replacing all the old carpeting for me since much of it had to be taken up to work on the harnesses.

I could not be more happy with my Vtech Corvette T-Arms. Not only do they look great, they perform great. My ’72 rides like a new ’72. This was the final restore effort to my rear suspension and I am super happy with your service, customer care is off the charts (thank you for T-ARM 101, and taking time to send photos to a long distance customer). Also the follow up and install assistance. Will be back.

Vtech, I received and installed the rear trailing arm assemblies and they work fantastic! I am so happy that my 75 is finally back on the road and can actually receive an alignment after who know how many years it’s been since it’s last alignment. My mechanic couldn’t tell if they were rebuilt or brand new, that’s how good a job you guys did. I am extremely happy with these parts and will definitely order from you guys again in the future.

I sent my trailing arms to Vtech Corvette for rebuilding. I was in a rush so they got them done and shipped back in 5 days. Best of all they looked better than new!
